Pharmaceutical company Bosnalijek, in cooperation with D. Med Healthcare, the Association of Family Medicine Doctors of FBiH, JU Sarajevo Canton Health Center, JU Pharmacies Sarajevo, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sarajevo, and the Association of Students of the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo, marked World Heart Day today with a special event, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
A free event for measuring blood sugar, blood pressure, determining the "age of blood vessels," and calculating body mass index was held on the Square in front of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Kenan Kekić, Marketing Manager at Bosnalijek, stated that a large number of fellow citizens responded to the initiative.
- By 1 PM, 250 of our citizens were examined. We also joined the commemoration of World Heart Day, and thus Bosnalijek company contributed to preventive actions aimed at reducing cardiovascular diseases - said Kekić.
According to data from the World Health Organization, more than 17 million people die annually from cardiovascular diseases worldwide, making it the leading cause of mortality globally.
