Commander of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Johann Luif, visited Reis-ul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović today with his associates, reports the Patria News Agency.
The Commander of EUFOR in BiH stated that religious leaders are an important factor in society and therefore it is significant that they participate in discussions on social issues, especially in the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina where Islam has been present for nearly six centuries. For this reason, General Johann Luif wanted to hear the opinion of the Reis-ul-ulema on the current situation in BiH.
The Reis-ul-ulema thanked EUFOR for its efforts so far in preserving peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and for the efforts it is making for Bosnia and Herzegovina to develop as a democratic state and follow the path of European integration.
- Bosnian Muslims are ready to be part of forces promoting peace and justice in the world and to contribute to resolving conflicts peacefully, said the Reis-ul-ulema, among other things.
Preparations for the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica were also discussed, announced MINA.
