Borenović Condemns Judicial-Political Scandal in Dodik Case; Will the Joint Commission Investigate the Role of OSA Chief Džuvo?

(Patria) - PDP representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) Branislav Borenović commented on the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to, upon the proposal of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, lift the detention of the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik (SNSD) and impose restrictive measures.

Borenović stated on X that it is difficult "to find a word that can describe the judicial-political scandal that occurred under the veil of secrecy two days ago in the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of BiH, when Dodik, with the current judiciary and the driving assistance of the first man of the Intelligence-Security Agency (note: Almir Džuvo), secretly concluded certain incredible court decisions."

"Milorad Dodik, accustomed to fraud and deception, in one day, in one hour, defeated both Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, defeated all judicial and police agencies, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska was defeated, exploited, and completely rendered meaningless, as were all other institutions of this country. Simply put, a defeat of the entire society in which we live occurred, and that is why it is not surprising that scandalous affairs, multimillion-dollar frauds and harmful combinations, various viaducts, serdars, godfather buildings, probably secretly negotiated in some 'institutional' regime chambers, are happening," Borenović stated.

In conclusion, he said that "this perverse, abnormal, evil, and cartel-like model of behavior must be changed."

"A perspective of a just, secure, and orderly society must be opened, where laws apply equally to everyone, before it is too late, if it is not already," he said.

What remains as a question is whether the Joint Commission for Supervision of the Work of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH, headed by Ilija Cvitanović (HDZ 1990), will schedule a session to seek answers from OSA Director Almir Džuvo regarding his involvement in the Dodik case. We remind you, Džuvo and Risto Zarić were appointed during the mandate of this government.

According to the composition of the Commission, the parties of the Troika, HDZ BiH, HDZ 1990, and the opposition from RS and FBiH have a majority, while SNSD has only two members, Milorad Kojić and Sredoje Nović.

We remind you, Dodik, accompanied by his lawyer and the head of OSA Almir Džuvo, arrived on Friday at the Court of BiH, where, upon the proposal of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, his detention was lifted, which had been ordered on March 12 due to failure to respond to summons from the BiH Prosecutor's Office, and an internal warrant had also been issued. Around 9 PM, media editorial offices and the public were informed about the held hearing, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office and the BiH Court issued a joint statement.

This hearing was prepared in secrecy, and several individuals from the very top of the judiciary participated in saving Dodik. Dodik should soon receive a second-instance verdict in the case of disregarding the decisions of the High Representative. On February 26, he was sentenced in the first instance to one year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity.

A day later, at his proposal, the National Assembly of RS adopted several unconstitutional laws, which the Constitutional Court of BiH invalidated at the end of May. However, the authorities in RS acted according to these laws even after the Constitutional Court of BiH invalidated them on March 7, adopting a temporary measure until a final decision.

Dodik, Radovan Višković, and Nenad Stevandić are suspected of attacking the constitutional order, and although the number of suspects should have been larger, the BiH Prosecutor's Office intends to conclude this case as soon as possible.

Such a decision by the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of BiH could not pass without the intervention of the international community, which is an additional problem given that several EU countries have imposed sanctions on Dodik, especially Germany and Austria, after he ordered the RS MUP in early April to stop the visit of German Minister Ana Lirman.
