Borenović: They didn't even let Draško light a candle

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - Unnecessary force and arrest of Draško Stanivuković in the churchyard! They couldn't even wait for him to light a candle, commented the president of PDP, Branislav Borenović, on the arrest of Draško Stanivuković in Banja Luka today.

Member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Draško Stanivuković, was arrested today around 6 PM.

"The police just arrested Draško while he was lighting a candle at the Temple of Christ the Saviour!" was announced on his Facebook page.

The Banja Luka Police Administration issued a warrant on Monday for Davor Dragičević and four other individuals, members of the group "Justice for David", including Stanivuković.

The group "Justice for David", which brings together thousands of citizens from Banja Luka and the region, has been demanding for almost a year that the authorities reveal who killed the 21-year-old young man David Dragičević in March 2018, accusing the police and political leadership of Republika Srpska of complicity in covering up the crime. The group is led by the father of the murdered young man, Davor Dragičević, his mother Suzana, and their friends.

The authorities in Republika Srpska responded with force, as the police attempted to break up protests held over the weekend, while a warrant was issued for members of the group who were not unavailable to the police.

"Republika Srpska resembles Latin American regimes, darkness swallows people, they arrest and threaten, beat and abuse, the missing are not found, the media lie, fabricated indictments are written, in one word – DICTATORSHIP," commented BiH director Dino Mustafić on Twitter.

Currently, it is unknown where Davor Dragičević, the father of the murdered young man, is. One of the family members told Patria today that they are considering reporting Davor missing, after there has been no information about him for over 24 hours.
