Borenović: Unnecessary and unbelievable use of force

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - PDP President Branislav Borenović condemned the police action in Banja Luka, where several people were arrested last night.

Borenović believes that the use of force by the police was unnecessary.

''Day 280! As always so far, peacefully and with dignity, without a single incident, thousands and thousands of citizens sought truth and justice, only for hundreds of special forces to descend upon about twenty people! Unnecessary and unbelievable use of force'', Borenović stated.

Police officers of the Banja Luka Police Administration deprived several individuals of their liberty around 11 PM last night for committing offenses under the Law on Public Order and Peace, the Law on Public Gatherings, and the Law on the Fundamentals of Road Traffic Safety in BiH, and there are grounds for suspicion that certain criminal offenses have also been committed, the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

Participants of the Justice for David rally were deprived of their liberty, while the police did not arrest Davor Dragičević, which was also confirmed by the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs.

After Dragičević returned to Krajina Square, he and other participants were surrounded by special forces. The RS Ministry of Internal Affairs states that the organizer of the public gathering did not adhere to the obligations prescribed by the RS Law on Public Gatherings, and the reported public gathering was not held in accordance with the report, in Krajina Square, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, but in motion.
