Fighters and Generals of the ARBiH: Bakir Allowed Halilović to Lie about the Late Alija and His Associates

The Association for the Protection of the Achievements of the Struggle for BiH, the Association of Generals of the ARBiH, and the Association for the Protection of the Name and Deeds of the TO BiH recently recorded and published a well-argued truth as a reaction to the film by Semir Halilović, Sefer's son, “How Herzegovina Was Betrayed,” which, to the detriment of the Army of the RBiH and the RBiH, manipulates the truth about the struggle for the liberation of BiH in order to shift the responsibility of his father Sefer Halilović for war crimes onto his superiors and subordinate comrades, reports the news agency Patria.

- We certainly call for accountability, now the former minister for veterans' affairs Faid Heća (BPS), because he knowingly spent taxpayers' money to the detriment of the ARBiH, and in favor of shifting responsibility for Sefer Halilović's war crimes onto his comrades – it is stated in the introduction of the film, which lasts over an hour.

Furthermore, these associations state that they additionally want to point out that the law is not the same for everyone, i.e., that for some individuals, media gossip is enough to raise an indictment, while at the same time, no indictment is raised against other individuals even with massive documented arguments.

General Hasan Efendić, the first commander of the TO RBiH, emphasized that he watched Semir Halilović's film and was appalled that anyone allowed such a thing to be recorded against our state.

Many lies were presented there to the detriment of BiH, to the detriment of Izetbegović, to the detriment of the fighters and commanders who worked there. Namely, what it's about is that everything good Semir attributed to his father Sefer, and everything bad he attributed to the other fighters – says Efendić.

Sulejman Vran, head of the personnel administration of the ŠVK ARBiH, emphasized that he was shocked by the film “How Herzegovina Was Betrayed,” which is signed by Semir Halilović.

- I can freely say that I have never seen so many untruths in one place and at the same time so much hatred of everything related to the times and significant figures from the past war. And all this comes from a person who at the beginning of that unfortunate war was barely 12, maybe 13 years old. I could understand that child, today an adult, if what he says about what befell his family in the war were true. But I don't understand how he doesn't see that his father is using him in a sick political ambition, manipulating both people and events, all to achieve sick ambitions from far back in 1992 – Vran pointed out.

He states that he cannot understand that there is no institution in the state that would deal with and sanction the years-long defamation of the first BH president, the late Alija Izetbegović, and his close associates, both in the political and military spheres.

- The film cites numerous lies, and among other things, Sefer Halilović is mentioned as the commander of the ARBiH. He was the commander of the Staff of the TO ARBiH from May 25, 1992, to June 23, 1992, and the chief of the Staff of the Supreme Command of the ARBiH from June 23, 1992, to June 8, 1993. And, from June 8, 1993, until the end of October 1993, he was the chief of the staff of the ARBiH as the second in rank in the Army of the RBiH when he was removed from the ARBiH.

Insiders claim that back in 1993, it was the late Alija Izetbegović who granted amnesty to Halilović, and now, 22 years later, fighters and associations are wondering whether Bakir Izetbegović, the leader of the SDA, will save Sefer from criminal responsibility by bringing him into power and forming a coalition with Sefer's BPS.
