Fight against childhood cancer: Walk/run 'Golden Circle' held in Visoko

(Patria) - The Association “Heart for Children with Cancer” is once again marking Golden September – the month of raising awareness about childhood cancer with a series of activities in September.

The Association “Heart for Children with Cancer”, with co-organizers, the City of Visoko and the Public Institution “Center for Culture, Sports and Information” Visoko, and at the initiative of Afan Habibović, a resident of Visoko – our brave fighter who beat a brain tumor, held the run/walk “Golden Circle” on September 10, 2023.

The run/walk was held on the occasion of Golden September - the International Month of Raising Awareness about Childhood Cancer, and its goal was, above all, raising awareness about cancer in children, but also collecting funds for children with cancer through the sale of T-shirts for participation in the race.


The run/walk is of a humanitarian nature, and was supported by numerous athletes, celebrities, business and public entities, and individual citizens, who came with one goal, and that is to support children with cancer and their families. The central location of the event was in front of the Altindag-Visoko Cultural Center.

This is not an ordinary Golden September. This is the month when we ran the race of life, when we as a community showed our solidarity with children with cancer. A time when we all had the opportunity to show our support.

Most importantly, together we sent a strong message to our little ones, and that is that they are not alone. That we are here with them all the way to the finish line, which is their recovery. That we are ready to stand by them in the greatest race, the one for life.
