STAYED IN ITALY: Students of Elementary School Grbavica II Sent Home Without Medical Check-Up

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After visiting Italy last week, 14 children, a teacher and the principal of Elementary School Grbavica II were pulled from school yesterday, on the recommendations of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton. 

The children were previously allowed into school, and subsequently sent back home. 

The principal of this school, Sabahudin Dino Bakal, confirmed to Patria that he was “advised yesterday by the Epidemiological Service to send the children home, and that the most important thing at this moment is that none of the children are sick, nor do they have flu symptoms”. 

“The children were not examined, and I see that in Croatia, students who stayed in Italy were examined by healthcare workers and epidemiologists, and the children were returned to classes because they are healthy. I will now contact our services to have the children examined and to decide on further steps,” Bakal said. 

The principal, as he says, due to fatigue, opened a sick leave, because he must justify his absence from work. 

He hopes that all the children will remain healthy and that they will return to classes as soon as possible.
