Canton Sarajevo Veteran Organizations Express Human and Patriotic Support for Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karić

(Patria) - The Coordination Board of Veteran Organizations of Canton Sarajevo, which brings together nine associations, sent a letter of support to the Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić.
"On behalf of the Coordination Board of Veteran Organizations of Canton Sarajevo, which includes all associations of patriotic organizations formed during and after the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we publicly express our support for your uncompromising and concrete work in the position of mayor, who day by day clearly and loudly articulates problems, acts concretely on the ground, and proves to be a true patriot, and for standing up in defense of all those ideals for which we also stood in defense of our homeland from the aggressor in 1992, as members of various formations of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the letter states.

They further emphasize that Karić, by actively promoting the truth about the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, removing signs promoting lies, emphasizing the importance of respecting our proud history with the initiative to erect a monument to our greatest ruler King Tvrtko, and by properly honoring all members of the HVO who defended Sarajevo, has motivated them to clearly and loudly stand in her defense and emphasize that she is not alone in this fight!

"Unfortunately, the silence of our academic circles and communities, intellectuals, artists, and athletes is deafening, as they silently observe various attacks and threats due to your actions from those who tried to destroy this country. We call on them to clearly and loudly express their stance and to stand in defense of those ideals, which we defended together in the hardest years of the aggression, not only on the front lines but also through culture, art, sports, and education!

We believe that at this moment it is of utmost importance to be clearly and loudly united around all those civilizational values and universal human principles for which we paid dearly for our freedom. We emphasize that this is not any kind of political, but exclusively human and patriotic support for your work so far, in the hope that you will continue on the same path.

Respected Mayor, due to all of the above, and because you daily promote the truth about the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, honor all citizens who stood in defense of our homeland, and actively react to all threats directed at Sarajevo daily, the Coordination Board of Veteran Organizations of Canton Sarajevo stands with you and gives you full support," it was announced.
