Bombs and grenades found on a farm in Vlasenica

VLASENICA, (Patria) - Alen Džindo from Vlasenica discovered destructive hand grenades and one projectile on his property in the immediate vicinity of Vlasenica, without knowing who left them there or for what purpose.

Džindo told the Patria agency that the grenades and a rifle grenade were first spotted on Friday by a worker helping him on his donkey farm, five meters from the stable where the animals are housed, and that the grenades were attached to iron rods.

"We were cleaning the farm and left the waste in one place. It was mostly scrap metal and some boards. When the worker spotted the grenades on Friday, they were attached with wire to that waste. It was enough to move either the grenade or the waste, after which an explosion would have occurred," said Džindo. He added that he later found projectiles in two locations on the farm, but said he could not confirm whether these projectiles were brought recently or were remnants from the war, given that, as Džindo stated, they show signs of age.

"The grenades and projectiles we spotted on Friday, five meters from the stable, were brought here recently. I don't know what's going on," said Džindo, who is afraid for the safety of his family.

Džindo said he reported the incident to the police in Vlasenica on Friday, but the grenades and projectiles remained in the same location on Monday.

"The Prosecutor's Office in Istočno Sarajevo ordered an immediate investigation. I expect the police and demining teams to arrive today," said Džindo.
