It is better for the negotiations in Neum to fail than for Bosnia to fail due to wrong solutions!

Negotiations on amendments to the Constitution and the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina continue in Neum. Matthew Palmer and Angelina Eichhorst are representatives of the international community who are helping our politicians reach an acceptable solution. Many citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina hoped that they would come to Bosnia and Herzegovina with a ready-made proposal, based on the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights and the opinion of the Venice Commission.

However, according to statements by representatives of some political parties that participated in the negotiations, the talks are not heading in that direction.

Demands of political parties aimed at further ethnic divisions should not be discussed, as this would mean the beginning of the end for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina should have one president elected by all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Let opponents of such a solution explain the reasons for rejecting this proposal. It is the only solution that is in line with international standards, practice, and constitutional solutions of all countries with a republican form of government. The only alternative and correct solution is the introduction of a fourth member of the Presidency from among the Others, who will be elected, together with the other three members from among the Bosniak, Croat, and Serb peoples, by all citizens from the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a single electoral unit.

If any other solution is agreed upon, which, wrapped in cellophane, would mean that members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina are elected by members of a specific ethnic group, that will mean the beginning of the end for Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is better for the negotiations to fail than for Bosnia and Herzegovina to fail.

Mr. Palmer and Ms. Eichhorst, this is the right moment to help us eliminate any kind of discrimination against citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding their rights to vote and be elected as head of state. That is what the citizens of our country expect from you.

Do not allow another major mistake to be made regarding Bosnia and Herzegovina!
