Boxer Ivan Sakić banned for 4 years due to doping

The Doping Commission of the Swedish Sports Confederation informed the Anti-Doping Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the presence of the prohibited substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone was detected in the sample of Bosnian-Herzegovinian boxer Ivan Sakić during a doping control at a competition in Sweden, thus violating Article 2.1 of the World Anti-Doping Code (Presence of a Prohibited Substance or its Metabolites or Markers in an Athlete’s Sample), it was announced, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The boxer from the fighting club „Winner“ from Prijedor has been banned from competition for 4 years.

The prohibited substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, according to the List of Prohibited Substances for 2016 („Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina“, number 88/15 of 17.11.2015) belongs to the group „S1. ANABOLIC AGENTS, Exogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroids.“

The substance is known on the market under the name „TURINABOL“ and shows an anabolic effect combined with a relatively low androgenic component. It is not a steroid that causes rapid gains in strength, weight, and muscle mass, but rather results in increased muscle mass and strength if taken for several weeks. Effects depend on the dose.

It is popular due to the fact that its metabolites are quickly excreted in urine. Side effects of using this steroid include decreased testosterone production, gynecomastia, acne, stomach pain, and uncontrolled aggressive behavior.
