Bogunić signs agreements with CBBH and FBiH Tax Administration: Verification of assets of judicial office holders to begin

(Patria) - The Department for the Implementation of Procedures based on HJPC Reports, which will verify the assets of judicial office holders, will soon begin operational work.

Yesterday, HJPC President Sanin Bogunić held a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Jasmina Selimović, and they signed a Cooperation Agreement aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in combating fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest, and other irregularities.

Considering the competencies of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which established and maintains the Unique Register of Business Entity Accounts in BiH and the Central Register of Loans of Business Entities and Natural Persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as other competencies, and with the aim of improving cooperation in combating fraud and corruption, conflicts of interest, ensuring transparency and accountability of judicial office holders, as well as more efficient and quality exchange of operational and other information, the signatories of the Agreement agreed to establish institutional cooperation regarding the automatic exchange of data and information.

This will enable the establishment of a system for verifying data from asset reports of judicial office holders in accordance with the activities of the Department for the Implementation of Procedures based on Reports.

The parties have committed to working together on the exchange of relevant data, with mutual respect for legal regulations on data protection and confidentiality of information.

Bogunić also signed an agreement with the Head of the Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH, by authorization of the Government of the Federation of BiH, Admir Omerbašić.

The agreement envisages the establishment of institutional cooperation on the automatic exchange of data and information with the aim of improving cooperation in combating fraud and corruption, conflicts of interest, ensuring transparency and accountability of judicial office holders, and more efficient and quality exchange of operational and other information.

The Tax Administration of the Federation of BiH and the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH have committed to working together on the exchange of relevant data, with mutual respect for legal regulations on data protection and confidentiality of information.

- The purpose of the cooperation is the effective verification of asset and interest reports of judicial office holders and members of the HJPC of BiH, which will contribute to strengthening the capacity of the HJPC of BiH in detecting, preventing, and sanctioning potential conflicts of interest and other irregularities, through the use of information and data available to the Tax Administration of FBiH – according to the statement from the Tax Administration.

The signing of the agreements was attended by the Head of the Department for the Implementation of Procedures based on Reports, Vesna Pirija, and Assistant Directors of the Tax Administration of FBiH, Almira Festić, Fahra Ćatović, and Muamer Dautbegović.
