Uborak landfill near Mostar blocked

MOSTAR, (Patria) - Citizens of Mostar and members of the "Because It Concerns Us" initiative blocked the Uborak landfill in Mostar early this morning.

"A multi-hour warning blockade is underway, during which citizens, stationed at the landfill access points, are preventing the passage of waste trucks. Despite the recent police action and other attempts at intimidation, and in extremely difficult conditions and low temperatures, we have not been and will not be prevented from continuing the fight for our health and the health of our families," stated the gathered residents. 

Police are also present at the scene, and the gathered citizens say they will take further steps to protect their health. 

The Uborak landfill has not had an environmental permit since December 2019.
