Blažić arrives in Sarajevo, pays tribute to Dženan Memić

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Petar Blažić (65), a writer, marathon runner and humanitarian who set off on foot from Banja Luka to Sarajevo on June 5 to pay tribute to the murdered young men David Dragičević and Dženan Memić arrived in Sarajevo today, where he was greeted by Muriz Memić, the father of the murdered young man Dženan. Together, they walked from Ilidža to the Eiffel Bridge in Skenderija.

Their arrival was met with applause, and they were welcomed by members of Dženan's family and friends of Memić, as well as the family's lawyer Ifet Feraget.

Blažić said he was not tired and that he usually walks across Bosnia and Herzegovina. Those gathered wanted to greet Blažić by shouting: "Justice for David, justice for Dženan."

"It has always been my wish to connect Sarajevo and Banja Luka. In the meantime, the cases of David and Dženan emerged, and that was the moment when I decided to undertake this journey. I tried to create a bridge to bring us closer to this country, to bring people closer, and to harmonize all our wishes and needs faster and better through common bridges," he said in a statement to journalists.

He carried with him a torch and a flower, which, as he says, he has carried for 40 years.

Blažić, together with members of the Memić family, went to the Great Alley where the memorial "Wounded Stone" was placed as a permanent reminder and warning of Dženan's innocent death, where he paid tribute and laid flowers.
