Blažević: When a coach has no results, he steps down, that's our fate

Certainly, the results indicate that something is wrong with the BiH national football team, but I wouldn't want to go into further detail, I would need to be more informed about the events. And, this (BiH's loss to Israel on Sunday evening, editor's note) is a debacle, it's truly a debacle – stated Miroslav Ćiro Blažević, the coach of all coaches, who himself was the BiH coach from 2008 to 2009, in an interview with the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).  

After BiH's loss to Israel on Sunday in Haifa as part of the qualifiers for the European Championship to be held in France in 2016, a large part of the BiH public has criticized Safet Sušić, the Dragons' coach, demanding his immediate resignation.

The Executive Board of the Football Association of BiH announced an extraordinary session for Monday afternoon, where the position of Sušić as the head of the BiH A national team will be discussed.

Although the BiH national football team, in its history, has qualified for the biggest football tournament – the World Cup – precisely under Sušić's leadership, he is currently one of the most disliked figures among football fans in BiH, as he himself has admitted.

You know, says Ćiro Blažević, in situations like these, it's easiest to condemn the coach.

- When you don't have results, they blame you and you have to go. But, that's our fate – he added.

Blažević says he did not watch the entire match between Israel and BiH, but from the parts he saw, he says, it is clear that there are some anomalies that need to be removed as soon as possible.
