Griffon vulture Luka did not adapt to nature, returned to cage

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Griffon vulture Luka was released into the wild yesterday from the "Kurbanište" site opposite Buna Spring, but was returned to the care of youth club members today.

Based on monitoring, the bird's behavior in the wild was not satisfactory, and members of the youth club Novi val decided to return Luka to the cage at the Eco Center Blagaj where he had been staying for the past four months.

Given that Luka's GPS had been removed, we did not want to take further risks due to the impossibility of satellite tracking.

In agreement with the members of the Foundation for the Protection of Birds of Prey of Serbia, (Belgrade, Serbia) they will jointly decide on the next steps.
