Former CIA Chief on the Bench Over Love Affair

The State Prosecutor's Office and the FBI have requested the filing of criminal charges against the former director of the CIA, four-star general David Petraeus, who resigned two years ago as the head of the central American intelligence agency after the FBI uncovered a love affair that could compromise national security, given that, according to security services, he is exposed to possible blackmail, reports the Patria News Agency.

The American judiciary is most interested in whether the celebrated American general, credited with the successful withdrawal of American soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq, allowed his 40-year-old lover, educated at the prestigious military university West Point, where Petraeus also studied, access to secret information important for American national security, as the FBI determined that the former US Army employee had access to his confidential mail.

Petraeus says he did not disclose confidential information and refused a plea deal to avoid legal proceedings. The media learned that Petraeus was also romantically involved with Jill Kelley, of Lebanese origin, and the weight of this relationship is also given by the suspicion that Jill was also the lover of John Allen, commander of NATO troops in Afghanistan, whose military career was interrupted, so the FBI fears that pillow talk could have ended up who knows where.
