Former ARBiH members suspected of war crimes released

(Patria) - A hearing to determine custody for four individuals arrested in a SIPA operation on suspicion of committing crimes against the civilian population and crimes against prisoners of war between 1992 and 1994 was held at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As announced by the Association of the Fourth Vitez Brigade of ARBiH, the suspects Vahid Alađuz, Senad Gadžo, Agan Nezir, and Sulji Hebibi have been released and will defend themselves from freedom.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office announced that the investigation relates to crimes against Serb civilians from the Sarajevo settlements of Hrasnica, Butmir, and Sokolović Kolonija, who were illegally detained in the camp of the "Aleksa Šantić" Elementary School and imprisoned in an unfinished building near the skyscrapers in Hrasnica.

"The accused are charged with the murder of at least eight captured civilians, and among the suspects are the direct perpetrators of the murders," the press release states.

Earlier, in a press release, the Coordination of Veterans' Associations of the Municipalities of Ilidža and Hadžići emphasized that they support the impartial work of the Judiciary and the Prosecutor's Office, but they are not in favor of the manner in which their comrades were apprehended, stating that this approach exposed the families of their comrades to additional stress.
