Former US President Jimmy Carter has been battling cancer for some time. Today, as reported by The Washington Post, he announced at a press conference that the tumor has spread to his brain, reports the Patria News Agency.
"I am at peace with whatever comes," said the 90-year-old Carter, adding that doctors have discovered four small tumors in his brain. He will undergo the first round of radiation therapy this afternoon, which will last three weeks.
Carter is the second oldest living US president. George H.W. Bush is only slightly more than three months older than him.
