Former soldiers of the 126th Brigade of the Army of RBiH supported Enes Durak for Mayor of Ilijaš

Some of the former soldiers of the 126th Brigade of the Army of RBiH openly supported the retired commander of the Army of RBiH, Enes Durak, who is running for Mayor of Ilijaš in the Local elections in BiH, on October 2nd. Durak is an independent candidate, and besides the soldiers, his candidacy is also supported by the SDP BiH, DF, and BPS parties.

The letter of support from the former soldiers of the 126th Brigade states that nearly three thousand residents of Ilijaš passed through this brigade during the aggression against BiH. The brigade had one of the fiercest battlefronts in BiH. The soldiers of this brigade fought honorably and honestly. Not because they hated anyone, but because their homeland was attacked. More than 300 soldiers were killed, and almost every second member of this brigade was wounded, severely or lightly. Unfortunately, the open letter continues, the soldiers have nothing today from giving their lives for their city.

- Ilijaš soldiers have had nothing from Ilijaš for a long time. The municipality is run by cadres who did not fight for the city, and who have no sense of responsibility towards the fallen soldiers or significant dates from the defense-liberation war. As a rule, they do not appear at events commemorating such occasions or dates – it is stated, among other things, in the letter from the former soldiers of the 126th Brigade, which further states that the soldiers of Ilijaš have their own candidate for Mayor of Ilijaš for the first time.

- Commander Enes Durak was with us from the first day of the aggression against BiH. He was always in front of the soldiers. Durak was a true hero, known throughout BiH, well-known to both friends and enemies. That is why we welcomed Enes Durak's candidacy as an opportunity to significantly improve the desperate situation we are in and into which the current government has led us. Commander Durak will know how to lead us in peace, honorably and with dignity, just as he led us during the defense-liberation war - believe the former soldiers of the 126th Brigade of the Army of RBiH.
