Former Minister Aida Hadžialić fined $4,670

Swedish prosecutors have imposed a fine of $4,670 on the former Minister of Higher Education of that country, Aida Hadžialić, for driving under the influence of alcohol last month, reports the Patria News Agency.

Aida Hadžialić, originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, resigned last month after police stopped her while she was driving back from a concert and measured 0.2 per mille of alcohol in her blood. She said at the time that she had made "the biggest mistake of her life.".

She explained that she had only had two glasses of wine, believing that the alcohol would disappear from her system before she got behind the wheel.

Hadžialić attracted significant media attention as the youngest minister in the Swedish government when she took office in the Ministry of Education in 2014, writes aljazeera.net.
