Bishop Palić surprised by the denial of Christmas in the EU

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the Cathedral of Mary, Mother of the Church in Mostar, the midnight mass was led by the Bishop of Mostar-Duvno, Petar Palić, who expressed surprise in his sermon about the attempts to deny Christmas in Europe and compared the chaotic situation at the time of Jesus' arrival with the state of affairs in BiH.

"We could express disagreement and surprise at the demands of political correctness from certain political circles recently not to mention God, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph for Christmas," said the Bishop of Mostar-Duvno in his sermon.

He added that today, just as at the time of the arrival of the little Christmas, 'special circumstances' were in effect.

"Thus, every era brings its own circumstances in which we celebrate Christmas," he added, saying that today Bosnia and Herzegovina, like 'Jesus' homeland, finds itself in a chaotic political situation.

He called on believers to follow the fundamental message of Christmas, which, according to him, represents loving others and receiving love, Hina reports.

"The message of Christmas is available to everyone because it is inscribed in human nature that one knows how to love and wants to be loved," said Bishop Petar Palić.

Midnight masses were also held in other churches in Mostar without special restrictions due to the coronavirus epidemic.
