Bishop expressed support for BiH in fighting security challenges and threats

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Deputy Director of the United States Central Intelligence Agency Vaughn Bishop visited Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The official host of this visit was the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition to the Director of OSA, heads of other police and judicial institutions were included in the visit protocol, with the aim of improving cooperation in future work to counter all security threats.

A meeting was held yesterday at the OSA headquarters between the leadership of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH and the closest leadership of the Agency, with Bishop. During the meeting, mutual satisfaction with the strong partnership between the two agencies was expressed, and even more intensive cooperation on all issues of common interest was agreed upon.

The working lunch after the meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson, Minister of Security Dragan Mektić, Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency Perica Stanić, Deputy Director of the Border Police Fahrudin Halač, Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies Mirsad Vilić, Director of the Service for Foreigners Slobodan Ujić, Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska Dragan Lukač, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Federation of BiH Aljoša Čampara, Director of the Police of Republika Srpska Darko Ćulum, and acting Director of the Federal Police Administration Ensad Korman, OSA BiH announced.

The working lunch discussed the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, activities undertaken in the fight against terrorism, mutual cooperation of all security agencies and bodies in BiH, as well as the fight against organized crime and corruption.

The Deputy Director of the CIA expressed support for Bosnia and Herzegovina in countering all security challenges and threats it faces and emphasized that the CIA will continue to support the work of agencies in BiH through data exchange via OSA BiH.
