Bilbija quarrels Mostar councillors, inspection to remove illegal street signs

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The public, and it seems Mostar councillors, are divided over a sign placed in Mostar - which reads ''Nemanja Bilbija street''. Mostar councillor from the First Mostar Party Adela Gosto reacted and pointed out that she called the inspection to remove the ''illegal sign, placed against all laws''.

This is something that has not gone through any procedure it should have, and the sign was placed illegally. I respect Nemanja Bilbija as an athlete and his name is not in question at all. What is questionable is the way the sign was placed. I contacted the head of inspection affairs, but since today is the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they are unable to go out into the field, so on Wednesday someone from the inspection will assess the situation and remove the sign'', Adela Gosto pointed out.

 

After that, the HRS also reacted. From this party, they state that the sign was probably placed by fans as a gesture of gratitude ''for yet another winning goal by Nemanja Bilbija in Sunday's match in Prijedor.'' ''Today it turned out that this benign and charming joke did not sit well with some 'concerned' fellow citizens who, on Independence Day, quickly harassed the inspection to conduct an inspection and remove the illegal sign. The sign is of course illegal, that is not in dispute, but it is worrying that such a joke was taken so seriously'', the HRS stated on their official Facebook page. They also noted that it is extremely important what signs are placed around the city, and they will send another request for an inspection.

''We decided to send a request for an inspection tomorrow to remove an illegal sign that has been standing for years in Marshal Tito Street at the approach from Lučki Bridge. Namely, on the mentioned illegal sign, it reads, ''Street of the national hero Mithad Hujdur Hujka''.
