Bijedić with Wizz Air Director on Routes and Sarajevo Airport

Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Enver Bijedić, with his associates and representatives of Sarajevo International Airport, held a meeting today at the seat of the Government of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo with the General Director of the low-cost airline Wizz Air, Jozsef Varadi, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Varadi expressed gratitude for the reception and highlighted the success that the airline is achieving by operating from Tuzla Airport. Spokesperson for the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications Amila Ćoralić stated that 150,000 passengers were handled in the past 15 months.

- With five direct Wizz Air routes, Tuzla Airport handled 150,000 passengers – stated Ćoralić.

As emphasized at the meeting, the company's management wants to consider the possibility of cooperation and opening routes from Sarajevo International Airport.

Minister Bijedić welcomed the expressed intention and promised all necessary support, adding that he hopes negotiations with the management of Sarajevo International Airport will result in three Wizz Air routes as planned, as early as the summer of 2015.

- Meeting participants expressed goodwill and mutual interest in providing a more modern and affordable way of travel for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina – added Ćoralić.
