BIHAMK: Snow Slows Traffic, Ban on Trucks with Trailers at Izačić Border Crossing

Traffic in Bosnia and Herzegovina is moving slower this morning on wet and partially snow-covered roads, BIHAMK has reported.

Packed snow on the road surface is present on sections in higher areas, and BIHAMK highlights the following routes: Ključ – Bosanski Petrovac - Bihać, Bosanski Petrovac - Drvar, Glamoč - Mrkonjić Grad, Tomislavgrad - Posušje, Vlasenica - Han Pijesak and Turbe - Karanovac.

- Low temperatures in the morning hours are conducive to the formation of black ice. We particularly highlight roads in mountainous areas, as well as bridges, viaducts and tunnel approaches. Landslides or rockfalls on the road are frequent on roads over mountain passes, as well as on sections passing through cuts. Road service teams are in the field and are intervening on all sections where necessary.

We appeal for maximum caution while driving, adapted to road conditions, and ask drivers not to set off without winter equipment, which is legally mandatory for all categories of vehicles – BIHAMK states.

Due to winter conditions in Croatia, a traffic ban is in effect for trucks with trailers and semi-trailers at the Izačić border crossing. At other border crossings, there are no longer delays.

Works are still ongoing in Croatia at the border crossings of Bosanski Brod - Slavonski Brod and Orašje - Županja, due to which traffic at these border crossings occasionally moves slowly during the day.
