Bihać councilors unanimous: No construction of hydropower plants on the Una River

The Bihać City Council at today's extraordinary session unanimously adopted a decision to repeal the Decision on granting consent to initiate the procedure for awarding a concession through a public tender for the design, construction, management, and transfer of mini hydropower plants at the Martin Brod and Dobrenica sites, reports the Patria news agency.

The councilors repealed the decision at the request of the Mayor of Bihać, primarily due to the differing and inconsistent perception and interpretation of the said concession among the general public, as well as due to the untimely and incomplete informing of the public about the subject of the concession, and the lack of public participation in decision-making in accordance with the provisions of the Nature Protection Act.
