Bosnia and Herzegovina exported goods worth 22 million euros to Hungary, imported three times more

The Chamber of Commerce of Hungary, in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska, organized the Hungary - Bosnia and Herzegovina Business Forum, reports the Patria News Agency.

In addition to the organizers, representatives of 16 Hungarian and 25 Bosnian companies participated in the Forum, which was held yesterday, June 11, at the premises of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH.

The President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, Ahmet Egrlić, stated that BiH cannot be satisfied with the trade exchange with Hungary, nor with the coverage of imports by exports, because in the first quarter of 2014, we exported slightly more than 22 million euros and imported more than 80 million euros worth of goods.

- BiH has potentials, resources, and knowledge, and can increase its production volume and exports. I hope that this forum will result in the improvement of business cooperation between these two countries - said Egrlić.

The President of the Committee for the Western Balkans / Chamber of Commerce of Hungary, Attila Galambos, stated that there is a long-standing cooperation between the chambers of Hungary and BiH, and that the representatives of Hungarian companies came to renew existing or establish new cooperation with companies from BiH.

Members of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce also offered assistance in removing the damage caused by the floods in BiH. President Galambos said that companies from Hungary are offering their capacities and cooperation to BiH companies, and that they are ready to come to BiH at any time to help assess the damage, and then to help remove that damage.

The Ambassador of Hungary to BiH, Jozef Pandur, stated that the relations between Hungary and BiH are good, but that meetings like the one held contribute to their improvement, especially when it comes to economic cooperation.

After the plenary session of the Business Forum, B2B meetings between Hungarian and Bosnian businessmen were held.

The Business Forum and meetings between BiH and Hungarian businessmen will continue today in Banja Luka, reports Patria.
