BiH Imported Cabbage, Carrots, Beans, and Apples Worth 2 Million KM in 2014!

Bosnia and Herzegovina has enormous agricultural potential, especially for growing vegetables and fruits, but despite this, our country imported cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, beans, and apples worth more than 2.3 million marks in January and February alone this year, the BH news agency Patria (NAP) has learned.

This data has been confirmed to the Patria agency by the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH. The import of these foodstuffs last year amounted to nearly 18.5 million marks. However, judging by the first two months, the import of these agricultural foodstuffs this year could exceed 20 million marks.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, for example, imported the most cabbage in 2014 from Italy, worth around 136,000 KM.

We imported the most cucumbers from Italy, worth around 200,000 KM. Italians sold us the most apples and pears, worth over 800,000 KM. We also imported legumes from them worth around 22,000 KM. Bosnia and Herzegovina imported the most carrots in January and February from Serbia, worth around 165,000 KM.
