BiH Signs Judicial Cooperation Agreement with EUROJUST

(Patria) - Minister of Justice of BiH Davor Bunoza and European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders signed today an international agreement between the EU and BiH on cooperation between the EU Agency for Cooperation in Criminal Justice (EUROJUST) and BiH bodies competent for judicial cooperation in criminal matters.

The agreement with EUROJUST represents one of the key conditions for obtaining a date to start negotiations with the EU.

The aim of EUROJUST is to strengthen judicial cooperation between the Western Balkan countries and cooperation with EU member states, especially in the fight against organized crime and terrorism.

By signing the aforementioned agreement, BiH strengthens judicial cooperation with EU countries, which facilitates the fight against organized crime and cross-border offenses.

Furthermore, it enables competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to access training and expert support, thereby improving the efficiency of judicial institutions.

In the context of increased security threats, this cooperation and the signing of the agreement become even more important, allowing for more effective action and information exchange among judicial institutions.

By signing the agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina truly continues the initiated reform of BiH's judiciary, through which it has achieved visible and significant progress on its European path.

Furthermore, this significant step enhances BiH's international reputation as a partner in the fight against crime and represents the realization of part of the ambitious plan of the Ministry of Justice of BiH, it was announced from that institution.
