Bosnia and Herzegovina is becoming a graveyard for old cars. The number of used vehicles imported into the country in 2015 exceeds 56,000, which is twice as many as in 2010, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Experts warn that for every new vehicle, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina import 11 used ones. Such data is devastating.
Because of this, the authorities have launched an initiative to ban the import of cars into Bosnia and Herzegovina that have an engine smaller than the Euro 4 standard, and the ban could come into effect during this year. Vehicles that were first registered in the European Union after January 1, 2006, have the Euro 4 standard.
Since September 2015, the Euro 6 standard has been in effect in Europe, writes NAP.
