BiH without a coach from tomorrow: Pape willing to stay on the bench

Bosnia and Herzegovina will be without a head coach for the senior national football team from tomorrow, as the current coach Safet Sušić's contract expires on July 1st, writes the Patria News Agency.

Whether Sušić will remain on the BiH bench and lead our team through the European Championship qualifiers is still unknown to anyone, not even Pape himself, who has asked for some peace. The popular Pape is in Sarajevo, and he has not yet spoken with the leadership of the Football Association about continuing the cooperation or leaving.

Sušić's friends say he is in a good mood and would be willing to continue his cooperation with the Football Association of BiH, and as NAP learns, members of the Executive Board also support Sušić.

- Major lobbying by our experts has begun. We will see if Pape will manage to remain in the position of coach this time as well. Pape has always had great support from Ivica Osim, but the most important thing is that he is willing to stay, so we will see – says our source from the FA of BiH.

Otherwise, upon arrival at Sarajevo Airport, Elevdin Begić, president of the FA of BiH, did not wish to give statements, mentioning that it was not discussed in Brazil either.

Also, Sergej Barbarez, former captain of the BiH national team, is mentioned as a possible candidate for the coach position, but members of the Executive Board are not enthusiastic about bringing the nation's former idol to the position of coach.

Faruk Hadžibegić would also not mind sitting on the BiH bench, but like Barbarez, he does not have much support. Also, Mehmed Baždarević, a renowned BiH footballer based in France, is seen as a possible new name on the BiH coach's bench. However, everything is still based on speculation, so there is talk that Dušan Bajević could also succeed Pape, although Bajević categorically refused to discuss it as long as BiH has a coach. But, from tomorrow, he will not have one.
