Bosnia and Herzegovina failed: Sweden too strong for Vujošević's players

 

The Bosnia and Herzegovina basketball team opened the pre-qualifications for the 2019 World Championship with a defeat in Sweden, reports the Patria agency. 

Our team was defeated by the host Sweden in Norrköping with a score of 81:73. From the very beginning of the match, our players showed a great desire to win, but unfortunately they did not succeed.

Our national team players made a large number of mistakes, but, as coach Duško Vujošević emphasized before the start of the pre-qualifications, these mistakes should not be held against them, because one must be aware that these are mostly young and inexperienced players, and most of them played in the national team jersey for the first time. Some of them did not even know each other before the start of the preparations. 

From the first minute, the match was in complete balance in terms of the score. It was played basket for basket, and the halftime score was tied at 38:38. 

In the second half, our players reduced the number of mistakes, which resulted in a lead at the end of the third quarter of 61:55. However, in the final period of the match, our inexperienced players made too many mistakes, which the Swedes knew how to exploit and secure the victory.

The best players in our national team were Džanan Musa with 17 and Markus Lončar with 16 points. 

Our team plays its next match in three days in Skenderija against Slovakia.
