Bosnia and Herzegovina has not established diplomatic relations with as many as 30 UN member states!

Bosnia and Herzegovina established diplomatic relations with only three countries in the current and previous year, according to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, writes the Patria News Agency.

Namely, Damir Arnaut, a member of the SBB in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, sent a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, inquiring what measures this ministry has taken in the current year to implement the Decision on establishing diplomatic relations between BiH and UN member states with which diplomatic relations have not been established, and when the MFA of BiH plans to complete all activities for the full implementation of this decision.

Namely, the Presidency of BiH, at its session on September 18, adopted the Decision on establishing diplomatic relations with UN member states, thereby obliging the MFA of BiH to take concrete measures in this direction.

- Although the Decision in question led to the establishment of diplomatic relations with a number of countries with which diplomatic relations had not been previously established shortly thereafter, according to data from the official website of the MFA of BiH, BiH has established diplomatic relations with only three countries in the current and previous year. According to data from the same website, BiH has established diplomatic relations with 163 UN member states, and with the Holy See, from which it follows that diplomatic relations have not yet been established with 30 UN member states, or over 15 percent of the world's countries. For comparison, our neighboring countries Croatia and Serbia have established diplomatic relations with 172 and 188 UN member states, respectively – states the explanation of Arnaut's question.
