BiH ranks 40th in safety, Switzerland safest country to live in

According to a study by ValuePenguin, a consulting firm from New York, out of 106 countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the 40th safest country in the world, while behind it are New Zealand, China, Belgium, and the USA, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The study covered seven areas: population, life expectancy, deaths in traffic accidents, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, number of police officers in the country, thefts, and assaults.

The five safest countries are: Switzerland, followed by Singapore, Spain, Japan, and Cyprus. For example, in Switzerland, there are seven crimes or forms of violence per 100,000 residents. The study showed that New Zealand has 839 assaults per 100,000 people.

Among the countries in the region, Croatia is in 26th place, Serbia in 19th, and North Macedonia in 32nd...

The most dangerous country is Eswatini, which is in last place, 106th.
