BiH is a suitable environment for the profiling of various forces

I do not think that anything positive can come out of the demonstrations and plenums that have been ongoing in BiH over the past few days, said for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) Professor of the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, sociologist and anthropologist Dželal Ibraković.

- This is an environment very suitable for political forces that want to profile themselves. But it is difficult for anything concrete to come out of this, given the circumstances in which everything is happening. It seems to me that people expect more of a substantive change, like a change of the Constitution. It is frustrating for both us and Europe that politicians cannot agree on anything - he believes.

Professor Ibraković believes that the protests stem from the justified revolt of citizens who have been waiting for some substantive changes for 20 years and who have lived through the war.

- We live in turbulent times that are very difficult to analyze. Everything happens ad hoc. The lack of a democratic environment has led to the search for alternative solutions. There is a wandering of the opposition, and the constant question of where Bosnia is going - Ibraković opines.

Given a certain number of young people, but also violent minors who participated in the riots, we asked sociologist Ibraković where he sees the cause of this phenomenon.

- One of the reasons is that young people are more in the virtual world, which causes a loss of socialization, but many of them also carry traumatic memories from the past period - concluded Ibraković.
