The UEFA Development Tournament for women's football will open with matches between the U18 national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, and the national teams of Montenegro and Greece, starting tomorrow at 11 AM, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).
BiH and Croatia will play their match at the Slavija stadium in Lukavica, while the national teams of Greece and Montenegro will play their first duel at the “Asim Ferhatović Hase” stadium in Koševo.
As confirmed for NAP by Momčilo Stanić, the coach of the BiH U18 women's national football team, the good results of the senior men's national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and their qualification for the World Cup in Brazil this year, contributed to the world football governing body entrusting this year's development tournament in women's football to our country.
- The expansion of football in BiH in recent years is evident. This is noticeable not only in men's but also in women's football. With this tournament, UEFA wants to support our country, and further improve women's football in BiH – Stanić told NAP.
The UEFA tournament will last until Friday, and it will be played in a round-robin system, after which the winner will receive a valuable trophy.
Since last season, Bosnia and Herzegovina has had a Premier League for women's football, which currently includes eight clubs from all over BiH.
