Bosnia and Herzegovina without representatives at Eurovision 2015: BHRT did not find financial resources

The saga with BiH's participation in Eurovision 2015 has finally ended. Our country will not have a representative in Vienna next year, it was announced by Radio-Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

BHRT made this decision today, although according to the deadline set by the EBU, it should have been done by November 14. The reason cited is the lack of financial resources.

- Given the very difficult financial situation in which BHRT finds itself and the drastic drop in the collection of the RTV fee, the only way for BiH to participate in the 60th Eurovision Song Contest was to find the necessary funds from sponsors. Unfortunately, BHRT did not succeed in this within the time available. In this regard, we inform the public that Radio-Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a full member of the European Broadcasting Union, will not have its representative at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Vienna from May 19 to 23, 2015 - the statement from BHRT reads.

Earlier, the Patria agency wrote that such a project by the Public Service of BiH deserves much greater responsibility and seriousness, as well as project planning a year in advance precisely to avoid such situations.

Although in recent months there were speculations about the names of Hari Varešanović, and in the last few days the group Regina was also in play, it seems that it was all just a wish, but not the possibilities of the BH Eurovision members.
