Library in Maglaj opened its doors to users

With a modest reception in the renovated premises of the General Library in Maglaj, held in the afternoon, the start of work with the first users was officially marked, who after three months of renovation will be able to borrow books to read, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

In the floods that literally submerged Maglaj in mid-May, this library suffered great damage, in which about 28,000 books were irretrievably destroyed. The renovation process was organized by director Nina Salkić with employees, and thanks to the solidarity of people and donors, about 15,000 books were successfully collected.

The complete renovation is not yet finished, but as Salkić previously told NAP, "step by step, as much as and how much is possible."

Donations to this library were made by numerous companies, bookstores, publishing houses, librarians' associations, as well as citizens from all over BiH. This year, the library celebrates its 56th anniversary, writes Patria.
