BHDCA: Bosnian Wand Airlines has not officially applied for a flight permit!

For a company to be an airline, it must have an AOC issued by the aviation authorities of a state, and only with an AOC can it transport goods and passengers for commercial purposes, writes the news agency Patria, say the Directorate of Civil Aviation (BHDCA).

Thus, the rules are clear, but the company Bosnian Award Airlines has caused a certain confusion because the company presented itself as an airline, which was denied by BHDCA.

- BWA does not have an AOC issued by BHDCA, which we stated in our press release! It is true that BWA sent a letter of intent to BHDCA regarding obtaining an AOC, and that a joint meeting was held where BWA representatives were presented with the conditions they must meet to obtain an AOC! Also, BWA must submit an official request, an application, for obtaining an AOC, which they have not yet done – says Aleksandar Lalović, spokesperson for BHDCA.

He further clarified that the conditions and manner of issuing an AOC are defined by the Rulebook on the conditions and manner of issuing an Air Operator Certificate.

- The company that received approval to fly on January 9 is the company Hermes from Greece, not BWA, and why BWA advertised itself, we do not know, you must ask them – added Lalović.

On the other hand, BWA claims that it is a responsible company and that it never claimed to possess a permit for conducting air operations, but it does expect one.

- The statement of intent for the purpose of obtaining an AOC was accepted by the Directorate of Civil Aviation, and the company has written evidence of this. Civil aviation is aware of all activities of Bosnian Wand Airlines in cooperation with Hermes Airlines. BWA also possesses permits for all flights and there is no operation that violates the law. The investor adheres to the law in BiH and conducts all business in accordance with the law – says Elma Zećo, PR manager of Bosnian Wand Airlines.

She further notes that the company BWA, whose partner is Hermes Airlines, has the right to start building its image as an airline because it has fulfilled all business procedures in the aviation market.

- When it obtains its own AOC, BWA will be registered in BiH as an independent airline. Until then, BWA will use the licenses of its partner, which is in accordance with legal procedures in the aviation market – added Zećo.
