BHANSA faces serious financial crisis due to account blockade

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA) is facing a serious financial crisis after Eurocontrol, by order of a Belgian court, blocked the funds that
BHANSA is supposed to receive for airspace management services.

This blockade, as announced by BHANSA, is a consequence of an arbitration ruling from 2022 in favor of the Slovenian company Viaduct, which is not directly related to BHANSA's operations, but has profound consequences for its business.

The account blockade prevents normal BHANSA operations, and revenues from route charges, which
make up ninety percent of its budget, are currently unavailable.

To mitigate the consequences, BHANSA was forced to take precautionary measures, including salary reductions for the previous month. This decision was made in consultation with union presidents to
ensure transparency and legality of the process and protect the rights of all employees.

The situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been further destabilized, and the recent events related to the enforcement
have placed BHANSA at the very center of developments. Despite everything, BHANSA believes in its strength and ability to overcome this crisis, and will emerge from it stronger and more resilient, ready to regain the level it deserves, although this may require certain sacrifices.

BHANSA's management thanks all employees for the understanding, patience and dedication
they show every day. Their support is crucial in these difficult times.

BHANSA calls on the competent institutions to recognize the urgency of the problem and find a solution that will enable the continuation of smooth operations, protect employees and preserve the international reputation of our country in the field of civil aviation.
