BH Train connects Sarajevo, Tuzla and Banja Luka

The Railways of the Federation of BiH will connect Sarajevo, Tuzla and Banja Luka with the BH Train from August 1. This was announced by the Management of the Railways of FBiH after successfully completing the necessary preparations and reaching an agreement with the Railways of RS, reports the Patria agency.

- This is the first time that Tuzla will be connected by rail passenger traffic with Banja Luka. In this way, with modern „Talgo trainsets“ we are connecting the three largest centers in the country. Earlier, we put the BH Train into service towards Zenica and Doboj, and later towards Mostar and further south. We still need to complete the electrification project of a part of the railway line in Krajina and thus connect Bihać with the capital and regional centers. That would mean the final and complete integration of passenger rail traffic in the country - said Enis Džafić, General Director of the Railways of FBiH.

This introduces the BH Train on the Sarajevo-Doboj-Banja Luka route, as well as local passenger trains on the Doboj-Tuzla-Doboj route, which will provide connections with Sarajevo and Banja Luka.

Džafić adds that the Railways of FBiH are strengthening day by day and that in the last year they have significantly improved passenger traffic services in the country.

- Regardless of the obstacles, the Railways of FBiH remain the backbone of the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of transport and communication. And in this way, by connecting large cities in the country, the Railways of FBiH best fulfill their mission, which is the free and unimpeded flow of people and goods throughout the territory of the country - concluded Džafić.

The regular ticket price on the Sarajevo-Banja Luka route is 25.80 KM (return 41.70 KM), on the Sarajevo-Tuzla route it is 21.40 KM (return 34.60 KM), and on the Tuzla-Banja Luka route it is 20.00 KM (return 32.40 KM).
