BH UK Network appeals to BiH citizens in Britain: We are deeply concerned about the situation in BiH

(Patria) - BH UK Network, the umbrella organization of BiH associations in Great Britain, is deeply concerned about the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in the entire Balkans.

"The situation is getting worse and we think it is time to show our concern and responsibility. Speculations about the possibility of new armed conflicts in BiH have been актуализированы in recent months, after the unconstitutional return of state competencies was announced from the BiH entity of Republika Srpska (RS). Milorad Dodik, member of the Presidency of BiH and leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), announced that he plans to withdraw consent to the agreements on the Armed Forces of BiH, annul the laws on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH, the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO), the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and the Intelligence-Security Agency (OBA) of BiH.

Since the end of July, representatives from RS have been boycotting the work of state institutions due to the Decision on Amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH, imposed by former High Representative Valentin Inzko, which prohibits the denial of genocide and other war crimes.

We believe that this situation does not leave any BiH citizen in Great Britain indifferent. We would ask you, dear friends, to write to your local MPs to raise awareness of the current situation. We call on you to get involved in this important issue in this way and use your current positions to encourage the government of Great Britain to help resolve this critical situation," the BH UK Network stated in its letter.
