(Patria) - JP BH Pošta informs the public that as of today, it is temporarily suspending the acceptance of all types of international postal shipments addressed to recipients in the United States of America at the counters of "JP BH POŠTA" d.o.o. Sarajevo.
"The United States of America, effective August 29, 2025, is suspending the 'De minimus' duty-free import treatment of goods. With the suspension of the 'De minimus' duty-free import treatment, customs duties and other costs, regardless of the value of the goods, must be calculated and paid before the shipment arrives in the United States of America.
The aforementioned change in customs treatment of goods imported into the USA significantly alters the procedure for accepting shipments with content for all postal operators operating under the rules of the Universal Postal Union, given that appropriate technological solutions for implementing the new customs and tariff regulations of the United States of America do not yet exist.
We also inform you that, due to the inability to implement the implementing regulations of the United States of America, partner air carriers have temporarily suspended the transport of all types of international postal shipments to the United States of America.
We emphasize that BH Pošta, as well as other postal operators, is making efforts to find a solution that will enable the resumption of postal traffic and the acceptance of postal shipments to the United States of America," the statement said.
