BH Journalists to Seek International Experts for "Željka Cvijanović" Recording Verification

The police raid on the Klix newsroom will seriously slow down media work in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was stated today at a press conference in Sarajevo's Mediacenter, as journalists in BiH will no longer dare to reveal confidential information, given that authorities are pressuring journalists and demanding they reveal their sources, writes the BH news agency Patria.

A press conference was held at the Mediacenter attended by representatives of the BH Journalists Association, the Press Council, and Klix.ba, where the gross violation of journalistic rights in BiH was once again warned about. The latest incident was recorded at the end of December last year, when the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton raided the Klix newsroom, pressuring journalists to reveal the origin of a recording in which the Prime Minister of RS, Željka Cvijanović, speaks about vote-buying in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.

The BH Journalists Association today reiterated its demand at the press conference for domestic institutions to verify the authenticity of the recording. If this does not happen as soon as possible, and according to correct procedures, the Association will seek the assistance of international experts in this field, writes Patria.
