BH-Gas officially becomes part of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas

BUCHAREST, (Patria) - BH-Gas was officially admitted to membership in the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) at the General Assembly meeting held in Bucharest, Romania.

For now, BH-Gas will have observer status in this association, because Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a member state of the European Union.

ENTSOG was established by the European Union through the Third Energy Package with the aim of enabling and improving cooperation between natural gas transmission system operators across Europe, as well as developing a pan-European transmission network in line with the goals of the European Union's energy strategy and the Energy Community of Southeast Europe.

Currently, 45 companies - gas transmission system operators - are full members of ENTSOG, while the total number of companies with observer status is 7, including BH-Gas. In this way, ENTSOG represents 27 member states of the European Union, i.e., the Energy Community of SEE countries.

BH-Gas has had good cooperation with ENTSOG for many years, has promoted and submitted its development projects to this European association, and they are already included in the Ten-Year Network Development Plans for natural gas in Europe.

By being admitted to membership, BH-Gas has once again received confirmation of its successful work and cooperation with this association. Membership opens the possibility of active participation in the further work of the association together with other transmission system operators from the European Union and the region in terms of information exchange, creation and harmonization of development plans, promotion of projects in the natural gas sector, and better positioning of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the gas sector of the region.

An additional benefit is reflected in the possibility of obtaining support and assistance from ENTSOG members in the implementation of binding documents arising from the Third Energy Package.
