BH Blok Files Criminal Complaints: The 'Asim' Case is Not a Scandal, It's a Criminal Offense

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Leaders of Our Party and SDP of BiH, Peđa Kojović and Nermin Nikšić, today signed a Report on Suspicion of Committing Criminal Offenses against Asim Sarajlić, Sabahudin Delalić, and Muhamed Šehović.

The report will be submitted to the KS Prosecutor's Office.

At a press conference held by these two parties, which form the BH Block, regarding the report, Nikšić stated that Asim Sarajlić is clearly a scapegoat.

“He is the man who took on the entire burden of responsibility, although it is clear to everyone that nothing could have happened without the leadership of SDA and people from this party installed in the intelligence services of BiH,” Nikšić said.

He added that Sarajlić once again put the party above the state.

“Only the naive can think that this was Sarajlić's act, and that Bakir Izetbegović and Osman Mehmedagić were unaware of everything. He took responsibility upon himself in order to cover up everything else that happened,” Nikšić emphasized.

Lejla Brčić from Our Party stated that the “Asim” scandal is one of the biggest corruption scandals in BiH in the post-war period.

“Unfortunately, this is not unknown to us; some party presidents and high-ranking officials have tried to minimize it, which is unacceptable. I am surprised that even non-governmental organizations monitoring organized crime have not reacted. This is not a scandal, it is a criminal offense,” Brčić added.

According to her, the criminal complaint was filed due to the lack of information from the KS Prosecutor's Office regarding the start of an investigation.

She called on the Prosecutor's Office and all competent institutions to approach this case with maximum seriousness.

Igor Stojanović (SDP) stated that through the “Asim” scandal, we have become aware of the abuse of institutions in BiH.

“Through the Asim scandal, we have received proof of how SDA abuses institutions. The SDP's commitment is to return institutions to the citizens. We are committed to removing institutions from politics, and this is an opportunity. In this situation, the BH Block does not want to engage in political maneuvering, but we have decided to file a criminal complaint,” Stojanović stated.
