Bevanda with EBRD delegation: Formation of government still a priority topic in BiH

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda today received a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) led by Director for the Western Balkans Zsuzsanna Hargitai, as well as the newly appointed Director of the EBRD for BiH Manuela Nassel and her predecessor Ian Brown.

Minister Bevanda welcomed the new EBRD Director and promised support in her future work, and expressed gratitude to Ian Brown for his dedicated work during his mandate in BiH. The interlocutors agreed that many EBRD projects in BiH have been successfully implemented, especially in the area of road infrastructure, and that projects for public transport in Sarajevo and new highway sections are also in preparation.

It was stated at the meeting that the formation of government remains a priority topic in BiH, although almost a year has passed since the general elections, which is why some loan agreements have not been ratified nor have procedures been completed after signing the agreements. Minister Bevanda emphasized that the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH is professionally performing its duties concerning the contracting of loan arrangements, and that cooperation with the EBRD is proceeding as usual and that he expects new projects in the future.
