Free Film Screenings for Children from Low-Income Households

The Local Self-Government Service of Centar Sarajevo Municipality, in cooperation with "Cinema City" cinema, has been providing free cinema screenings for preschool and school-aged children from low-income households residing in the Centar Municipality for many years, reports the Patria News Agency.

The management of "Cinema City" cinema provides 20 gift vouchers every three months for these children, each valid for two people. In the past period, children from the following local communities received free tickets for film screenings: "Hrastovi-Mrkovići", "Koševsko brdo", "Soukbunar", "Breka-Koševo II", and "Bardakčije".

-Since the project began, around 640 children from low-income households have watched a film screening for free as part of the children's or family program. The project, which lasts until the end of the year, includes all local communities in the Centar Municipality, so that all children from socially vulnerable families can visit the cinema. This project means a lot to the children, because unfortunately, there are children in our community who have never had the opportunity to go to a cinema show, said Selma Piljević, secretary of the "Mejtaš-Bjelave" Local Community.

Vouchers can be used on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays between 3 PM and 7 PM, according to the cinema's available program.
